Make up Double Nickel Salts 0.5oz. per gallon 3grms per liter.

Copper Sulphate 0.5oz. per gallon 3grms per liter.

Potassium Chlorate 0.5oz. per gallon 3grms per liter.

Use the solution at 60°C. with an intermediate wet scratch-brushing to even out the color. Waxing off improves the color. Note Potassium Chlorate is a powerful oxidizing agent, and the powder must be kept in a well stoppered container.

Blue Color (Passivate)

Make up Sodium Dichromate 0.8oz. per gallon 5grms per liter.

Concentrated Nitric Acid 3.2 fluid oz. per gallon 20mls. per liter.

Dissolve the sodium dichromate in one liter of water, then add the nitric acid carefully, stirring well in slowly. The bath is operated at room temperature. The immersion time 10 to 20 seconds.
